Chuparosa is a mounding shrub with succulent stems and short-lived succulent leaves.  As the leaves fall tubular, reddish flowers appear in profusion.  There is always a lot of Chuparosa but some years the flowering is better than others.  In a good year the reddish flowers make a real statement with the bright yellow flowers of Brittlebush, which flower at the same time.
