Ocotillo is a deciduous succulent shrub with unique pole-like branches topped with red tubular flowers.  Like many desert plants Ocotillo is opportunistic and leaf’s out quickly whenever rain comes.  The small leaves are deep green and ovate shaped.  This is a very slow growing plant and large specimens are centuries old.
