Horticultural Notes

3′ x 5′         This evergreen shrub is much more charming than its name suggests. The resinous, fern-like foliage is aromatic with a scent like that of witch hazel oil (which is used to alleviate skin problems).   The plant is rare in our mountains but a cousin is widespread in the Sierra’s.  Bright white flowers appear winter and early spring.
