12″ with flowers to 3′     Yarrow is a perennial herb with fine feathery like leaves.  The Spanish name means little feather.  This is a very easy plant to grow.  It forms a spreading crown and produces white flowers May to  June.  There are many ornamental colors in the trade.

This is a very important herbal medicine plant for the Indians.  The leaf and above ground parts are used for fevers, colds, stomach pains and to help reduce bleeding from wounds.  The chewed leaves may help relieve toothaches.  It is sometimes applied topically to skin to reduce itching and rashes.
